CHM services :: Node survices

Bulgarian CHM portal web site offers a wide range of services for access, use and exchange of information in the field of biodiversity. Such opportunities are provided as well by the web sites of key institutions and organizations working in the field of biodiversity in the country. They are organized as “information nodes” of CHM.

Currently nine information nodes have been functioning through which the Bulgarian CHM information is gathered, processed and structured. These are National Nature Protection Service- MOEW; Agro-ecology - MAF; National Forestry Board- MAF; Environmental Education; Non-governmental organizations; Sofia University; Park Node; BULBIONET- Bulgarian Academy of Science; Executive Environmental Agency. The web site of each Information Node is presented below.

Web site of the EXECUTIVE FORESTS AGENCY

The web site includes information about: the institution, activities, administrative structure, documents, projects / programs, forum, links and contacts.

The web site includes information about: the institution, basic principles, the administrative structure, legislation, international agreements (international conventions, European directives and agreements), biodiversity related information (general information, protected plants, protected animals, medicinal plants), protected territories, projects and programs in the field of Biodiversity.The web site is developed on the basis of a Content Management System.

PARKS information node

The Association of Parks in Bulgaria (APB) was founded on January 28th, 2003, in Sofia as an non-profit, non-governmental organisation. Currently it comprises four collective members (one association and three directorates of nature parks in Bulgaria) and 15 individual members (citizens who actively support biodiversity conservation and advocacy for sustainable development). The APB’s goal is to support the development and preservation of the system of protected territories in the country, conservation of Bulgaria’s biodiversity and promotion of sustainable development by balancing ecological, social and economic interests. The APB is part of the coalition of nongovernmental organisations “Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria” and is active as an initiator of advocacy campaigns for nature conservation within the coalition, as well as independently.

The web-site contains references to: Universities curriculums database, Programs/ Projects, Specialists, Institutions/ Organizations database, Libraries database.
